Night vision

I found out the reason my pictures have been so grainy was because I had cranked up the ISO on my camera to 800.  Lowering the ISO really did help. I was so excited with what I learned, that I took a bunch of random pictures in low light and indoors.  I guess it's pretty obvious that I'm still learning how to use my little camera.

The view from my balcony.

Boots from Ruche that I love.

Flowers my husband brought me last night.

Cthulhu glaring menacingly from the executive chair.

Pretty custom dice.

This new found knowledge will definitely come in handy when I share my macaron baking adventure this Wednesday.  (Yes, I know I promised myself I would make them last Wednesday, but I was way too tired!  And then with Canadian Thanksgiving weekend and all, the time seemed to fly by so quickly.)  I also have outfit photos I'd love to take and craft projects I'd love to get started on.  What this means is that I really need to buckle down on my time management skills (And stop being such a night owl)!

Dream dress

Do you have a dream dress?  I think I do.  I pretty much check Ruche everyday to see what's newly available and more specifically to see if my dream dress has arrived yet.  Basically my dream dress is any dress I see that I really adore and would love to wear everyday, and is within my price range.  It hasn't just yet, but I did see this:

My dream dress!  I know I just said I my dream dress hadn't arrived yet, which is partially true.  At this moment in time, it isn't exactly in my price range, but I absolutely adore it.  I'm thinking perhaps I should try to make a similar dress myself, I'd just need to find the perfect fabric for it, and then I'd need to figure out how to make my own pattern.

In any case, I love Dear Creatures clothing style.

I don't own a single piece, but wouldn't it be absolutely amazing to find one at a consignment store, just as Clever Nettle did?

The perfect cup of tea

A midterm on Wednesday with seven weeks of notes to go through, but I'm running on three hours of sleep.  I'm hoping some tea will help.  Curling up on the couch with my books and a hot cup of tea sounds like a nice idea anyway.

I was also a little excited to try some of the herbal teas that came in the sampler pack I just got, because I've never tried chamomile tea or mango passionfruit(!) tea before.

My first cup of mango passionfruit tea had to be perfect, so I searched and I found this:

Andrew, the tea guru, tells exactly how to properly brew from a bag of tea.  Isn't it exciting?  Apparently I've been doing it wrong the whole time, too!

(After I watched the video, I realized the herbal teas are caffeine free and wouldn't be much help, so just decided to go with my favorite: spiced chai.)

As instructed, I poured boiling water over the tea bag and let it sit for about five minutes.

After pouring into the cup, I added the milk (rice milk for me).

I didn't add any sugar like Andrew suggested and I think it tasted fine without it.

After my exam on Wednesday, I plan to bake, or attempt to anyway, chocolate French macarons to go along with tea.
